Terms

1. Who you are dealing with

Sureela is operated by Sureela Inc, based in the San Francisco Bay Area, California. Write to us at hello@usesureela.com about anything at all, including an order, a complaint or a request to see your data. A postal address is available on request.

2. What we sell

We write, record and deliver an original song based on a written brief you provide, and where your package includes it, edit that song to a photograph you supply.

  • Single, $49: 1 song, 1 revision, delivered within 24 hours of us receiving your completed brief.
  • Signature, $97: 1 song, 2 revisions, delivered within 24 hours of us receiving your completed brief.
  • Wedding Pack, $399: 2 songs, 3 revisions, delivered within 24 hours of us receiving your completed brief.

3. How the work is made

Songs are written and finished by a person. We use software tools in production, as any modern studio does, including AI-assisted tools for drafting. A human being reviews and finishes every song before it is delivered. We do not represent that any song is produced entirely by software or entirely without it.

4. Timings

Delivery times run from the moment we receive your completed brief and any footage, not from the moment you pay. If you do not submit a brief, we cannot start.

5. Revisions

Your package includes a set number of revisions. A revision means changes to an existing song: lyric corrections, a different mix, a re-edit. It does not mean a new song on a new subject, which is a new order. Revision requests should be made within 30 days of delivery.

6. Cancellation and refunds

Every song is written to your brief and is yours alone, so it cannot be resold once it is made. That is why the refund position depends on where we have got to, and we would rather say it plainly than bury it.

Before you submit your brief, write to us and we will refund you in full, no questions. Once we have started writing, we will work with you through the revisions your package includes until you are happy. If we fail to deliver at all, or deliver something that is not what you ordered, you get your money back.

Nothing here takes away any right you have under the consumer law of the place you live.

7. What you are promising us

When you upload a photograph you confirm that you have the right to send them to us and that everyone recognisable in them has agreed to their use for the purpose of making your song. You are responsible for that permission, not us. Do not send us material involving a child without the consent of their parent or guardian.

8. Rights in the song

On payment in full you receive a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to use your song for personal, non-commercial purposes. Sureela retains ownership of the underlying recording and composition. Commercial use requires separate written agreement, which we are happy to discuss: write to us and we will quote for it.

You keep all rights in the photo you supply. We use it only to make and deliver your order, and will never show your song or photo as an example without your written permission.

9. What we will not write

We may decline any brief, and refund it, at our discretion. In particular we will not write anything harassing, defamatory, sexually explicit about an identifiable person, or intended to deceive somebody about who created it.

10. Liability

Nothing here limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that, our total liability in connection with an order is limited to the amount you paid for it.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of laws rules, and the courts of San Francisco County have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, this does not deprive you of the protection of your local law.

12. Changes

We may update these terms. The version in force when you place your order is the version that applies to it.
